The Hollow successfully put to bed for winter!

Rivers agency has secured £6m for the integrated / flood alleviation elements of the CCG project.

Agriculture Minister Michelle O’Neill has secured £ 6 million for flood alleviation work to help protect 1,700 properties in East Belfast.

The move, which comes following a meeting with the Finance Minister, gives the Rivers Agency the go ahead to include flood alleviation works as part of the Connswater Community Greenway project.

Following on from the hugely successful spring clean of the Hollow, CCG will be helping to cleanup the Hollow this Saturday (Sat 13th Oct) alongside local residents and community groups.

Rivers Agency commence interim flood alleviation works at Orangefield Park

Further interim flood alleviation works at Orangefield Park have commenced.

Rivers Agency has started work to lower the level of disused land beside the park to create a ponding area for flood storage during periods of heavy rain. This will help reduce the risk of flooding to houses in the area in advance of the flood alleviation works to be carried out as part of the CCG project.
