Green Fingers Workshops - July and August

Young people from several of our local playgroups and summer schemes joined up with the Connswater Community Greenway for a series of half day visits to Larne Lough Nurseries.

The programme was developed, in partnership with Larne Lough Nurseries, to raise awareness of the natural environment and the Connswater Community Greenway and to encourage young people to get involved in planting and growing ahead of the development of community gardens along the CCG route.

Walkway 'Duck Dooo'

Walkway Community Association was the latest recipient of a CCG Community Activity Grant, made possible by the Big Lottery Fund funding received by the Connswater Community Greenway.

Stakeholder Forum June 2011

The latest Stakeholder Forum took place in Bloomfield Methodist Church Hall, Grand Parade on Friday 24th June.

Approximately 110 stakeholders, interested parties and local residents attended the forum to learn more about the Greenway. Wendy Langham (CCG Programme Manager), Peter Papafio (McAdam Design) and Duncan McAllister (Connswater JV) provided attendees with information on project progress. Mark Tully from QUB provided an update on the PARC Study.

Dundela Infants School Eco-Fair

Connswater Community Greenway team and the Connswater Duck attended Dundela Infants School Eco-Fair recently.

This was a welcome opportunity to provide information on, and raise awareness of the project amongst local residents in a fun, family environment.
